A new WordPress.com support homepage

At the Happiness meetup in St. Louis earlier this month a few of us started working on a redesign of the support documentation homepage for WordPress.com. It saw the light of day yesterday.

Ryan at WPCandy even wrote a short post about it. In it he writes:

It’s not often that support, or documentation in general, is given much attention — let alone redesign attention.

The mini-project was a lot of fun to work on and it’s great to see the change positively received. There will hopefully be a lot more coming soon. 🙂

A Return to Blogging. Max Cutler writes about what he’s been up to in the last 6 months and about how he’s going to start writing more. I’m looking forward to what’s coming from his site.

There’s a salad that goes with it, but who am I kidding, it’s all about the ahi. 🙂

Three Sisters Wilderness

I spent last Thursday through Saturday hiking through the Three Sisters Wilderness with Leah and our friend Luke. It was an absolute blast. My iPhone was in airplane mode the whole time and the only thing electronic I touched was my camera.

The weather was gorgeous and we got 4 hikes in. We covered Obsidian Falls, Horse Pasture Mountain, Hand Lake, and Sahalie Falls. My Fitbit tells me it was over 33 miles of hiking. I’ve kind of thrown off my weekly averages there.

St. Louis Happiness Team Meetup

I spent August 4th through the 11th in St. Louis with the rest of the Happiness Team at Automattic. We had a great time, got a lot of good things done, and enjoyed a couple Cardinals games against the Brewers.

After that it was off to San Francisco for WordCamp where I helped organize two new user workshops. Those were extremely enlightening and I’ll have more coming on those later.

Let’s meet and work. An index of places to freelance and co-work around London. Sounds like an NYC map is also in the works. Somewhat related to and idea I wrote about earlier this month. (via swissmiss)

Sources Go Direct in today’s news

I’ve been saying this for fifteen years. It’s one of those ideas that at first seems unbelievable, then you realize it means freedom and responsibility in a whole different way. Sources Go Direct is the biggest single change in the way news works in the age of the Internet.
