This is the first time since 2022 that I’ve not been at Bandon Dunes. That trip starts the day after Thanksgiving and packs 5 rounds of golf (plus par 3 courses) into as many days. My brother and I join over 40 other guys that Kyle wrangles into a heck of an event.

It’s a week rich in camaraderie (plus positively degenerate levels of betting) and, surprisingly, fantastic weather.1 The timing this year didn’t line up as we got settled in Ireland, but last year was the strongest my game has been since picking up golf in 2019. I had my best set of rounds, though my caddy Wallsy deserves an immense amount of that credit.
That trip happened to be when I last touched my clubs. Golf slipped to the side amidst two moves and running more than any year past. The level of rust when I do pick them back up will be painful! Yet part of why I got into golf in the first place is that it’s a hobby that ages with you.2
