In order for diversity to be enriching, a common base of knowledge is required.

I picked this up after Robin Sloan mentioned in his newsletter that he’d written the introduction for the 2nd edition. Any book about books and reading is an instant purchase for me. It’s a delightful, quirky volume that touches on reading, libraries, and the book industry. Originally written in 1996 I found it a fun, quick read. Some of the quotes from other authors were what most stuck with me.
